For his immense contribution to environmental law he has received a number of awards and accolades, such as the Padma Shri, Magsaysay Award and the UNEP Global 500 Award, to name a few.

Dr. Tarini Mehta

Dr. Tarini Mehta is a GARP SCR-certified Strategic Environmental and Climate Law and Policy Specialist with over 12 years of experience in Academia, Public Policy, Government Advisory, and NGO sectors. Dr. Mehta is known for driving Sustainability Initiatives, advising on policy frameworks and regulatory compliance, and research projects with global institutions, with a track record of fostering stakeholder engagement across multiple sectors to implement policies and enhance regulatory compliance. She has led and managed sustainability initiatives, as well as collaborative projects on climate and environmental policies, in both academic and governmental settings, emphasizing resource conservation and energy efficiency.

Dr. Mehta has held senior academic roles at O.P. Jindal Global University, as well as advised and worked with the UK Focal Point for the EU Fundamental Rights Agency, Normandy Chair for Peace, Indian Council for Enviro-Legal Action, and the International Bar Association, among others. She is proficient in International and National legal frameworks, with a particular focus on Environmental, Climate, Human Rights and ESG frameworks, including GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDSB, IFRS Sustainability Standards, European Sustainability Reporting Standards, and BRSR.

Education

Dr. Mehta holds a Doctorate in International Environmental Law from Pace University (US), an LLM from the University of Cambridge (UK), LLB from the University of Warwick (UK), and a BA in Philosophy (Hons.) from the University of Delhi. Her specialized certifications in Sustainability and Climate Risk from the Global Association of Risk Professionals, Sustainable Finance from Deloitte Singapore, and ESG Risks and Opportunities from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, further reinforce her leadership in sustainability and compliance initiatives.

Divita Vashisht

Divita Vashisht holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Jindal Global Law School and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University of Delhi. She has litigation experience in environmental law, property law and consumer and medical negligence matters, having handled matters before the National Green Tribunal, High Court of Delhi, and district courts across Delhi NCR. Her areas of expertise include Environmental Law, ESG Compliance and Civil/Commercial Disputes. Her experience has equipped her to address diverse strata of legal challenges under these domains.
