Why ESG
Why This Course

Why ESG? Why Now?

ESG has moved from the periphery to the center of business strategy and decision-making. Laws and reporting standards (such as the EU’s CSRD, SEBI’s BRSR in India) are mandating ESG disclosures, making ESG compliance no longer optional for companies. With the advent of the latest SEBI Guidelines and mandatory reporting under BRSR, ESG strategy has become essential. Whether you’re in law, finance, sustainability, or policy – ESG is the new gold standard of leadership. This foundational course equips lawyers and professionals with the critical knowledge and practical tools needed to navigate these regulations, advise clients effectively, and lead the charge in sustainable business practices.

The course also covers ESG data collection and analysis, BRSR and BRSR Core reporting under SEBI regulations, and the legal intersections of ESG with environmental law, labour codes, and corporate governance. Participants will also gain skills in identifying greenwashing risks, ensuring third-party assurance, and navigating ESG audits. The curriculum ends with modules on sustainable finance, carbon markets, ESG investing, integrating ESG into enterprise risk and strategy and, aligning SDG’s with ESG Data thereby, helping participants turn ESG from a compliance obligation to a source of long-term value creation, investor confidence, and stakeholder trust.
